Planet 51

Planet 51 is a 2009 British-Spanish computer-animated science fiction comedy film directed by Jorge Blanco, Javier Abad, and Marcos Martínez. It was originally titled Planet One.

The film tells the story of American astronaut Captain Charles "Chuck" Baker, who lands on Planet 51, a planet inhabited by small, green humanoids who live in a society reminiscent of 1950s America. The inhabitants believe that they are the only beings in the universe and are terrified by the arrival of the human astronaut, viewing him as an invading alien.

Chuck is befriended by Lem, a Planet 51 teenager who dreams of being a photographer. With Lem's help, Chuck tries to evade the Planet 51 army and return to his spacecraft before he is captured and displayed in the Planet 51 Alien Invasion Museum. Along the way, they encounter various characters, including a paranoid Planet 51 general, a robot probe named Rover, and Lem's love interest, Neera.

The film explores themes of xenophobia, cultural misunderstanding, and the importance of friendship. Planet 51 received mixed reviews upon its release, with criticism aimed at its derivative plot and reliance on science fiction tropes. However, its animation and voice acting were generally praised. The film features the voices of Dwayne Johnson, Jessica Biel, Justin Long, Gary Oldman, Seann William Scott, and John Cleese.
