Buck Ram

Buck Ram (November 21, 1907 – January 1, 1991) was an American songwriter, producer, and manager, most notably known for his association with the Platters.

Ram was born in Chicago, Illinois, and his birth name was Ande Randle. He adopted the name Buck Ram early in his career. He had a diverse musical background, having worked as a lawyer, a pianist, and a songwriter prior to managing vocal groups.

Ram discovered the Platters in the early 1950s and served as their manager, songwriter, and producer. He co-wrote and/or produced many of their biggest hits, including "Only You (And You Alone)," "The Great Pretender," "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes," and "My Prayer."
