Andrew McFarlane (motorcyclist)
Andrew McFarlane (1977 – 2010) was an Australian professional motocross and supercross racer. McFarlane, nicknamed "Sharky," was a prominent figure in Australian and international motocross racing. He achieved considerable success, including multiple Australian National Motocross and Supercross championships.
McFarlane competed in the FIM Motocross World Championship, achieving podium finishes and race wins. He was known for his aggressive riding style and determination. He also raced in the AMA Motocross and Supercross championships in the United States.
Tragically, Andrew McFarlane died in May 2010 as a result of injuries sustained during a practice session for the third round of the Australian Motocross Championship at the State Motorcycle Sports Complex in Broadford, Victoria. His death was a significant loss to the motocross community. He is remembered as a skilled and dedicated racer who contributed significantly to the sport.
