Leofwine (bishop of Lindsey)

Leofwine was a medieval Bishop of Lindsey in England. His episcopate is generally believed to have spanned from around 953 to 971. Lindsey, at this time, was a diocese covering part of Lincolnshire. Few details are definitively known about Leofwine's life or his specific actions as bishop due to the limited historical records available from that period. He is mainly known from episcopal lists and charters that mention his name. The history of the Anglo-Saxon church during the tenth century is fragmented, making reconstruction of individual episcopal careers challenging. His successor was Ælfhelm.
