Ian Campbell (Canadian politician)
Ian Campbell (also known as Iám̓íy̓aḿ) is a Canadian politician from British Columbia. He is a hereditary chief of the Squamish Nation.
Campbell served as a councillor with the Squamish Nation for over 16 years, focusing on issues such as housing, education, and economic development. He has been a strong advocate for Indigenous rights and self-determination.
In 2018, Campbell ran for mayor of Vancouver as the Vision Vancouver candidate. His platform focused on tackling the city's housing crisis, addressing affordability, and improving transportation infrastructure. He ultimately lost the election to Kennedy Stewart.
Following the election, Campbell returned to his work with the Squamish Nation and remains involved in community advocacy.
