FK Vėtra

FK Vėtra was a Lithuanian football club based in Vilnius. Founded in 1996 as Vėtra-2 Vilnius, initially a farm team for Žalgiris Vilnius, it later became an independent club. Vėtra played in the A Lyga, the top tier of Lithuanian football, for a considerable period, achieving notable success by finishing as runners-up in the league multiple times (e.g., in 2003, 2008 and 2009). The club also reached the Lithuanian Football Cup final on several occasions, winning in 2003.

Vėtra participated in European competitions, including the UEFA Cup and the UEFA Intertoto Cup.

The club faced significant financial difficulties in 2010. As a result, they were excluded from the A Lyga during the 2010 season and ultimately went bankrupt. All of their remaining results from the 2010 season were annulled. Following the club's demise, various attempts were made to revive or create a successor club, but none achieved sustained success under the Vėtra name at the top level of Lithuanian football.
