Lloydminster (former Saskatchewan electoral district)

Lloydminster was a provincial electoral district in Saskatchewan, Canada, which existed at various times between 1912 and 2016. It was named for the city of Lloydminster, which straddles the Saskatchewan-Alberta border.

The district was first created in 1912, encompassing a portion of the northwestern agricultural region of Saskatchewan. The boundaries of the constituency changed several times throughout its history to reflect population shifts and electoral reforms.

The Lloydminster electoral district was represented in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan by Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) elected through the first-past-the-post electoral system. Representation in the constituency often shifted between the Liberal, Conservative, and New Democratic parties, reflecting the diverse political views of its residents.

Significant industries within the Lloydminster electoral district traditionally included agriculture, oil and gas, and related service industries. The district's economy was closely tied to the resource sector.

The electoral district was dissolved prior to the 2016 Saskatchewan general election. The area formerly encompassed by Lloydminster was redistributed into new and existing constituencies, including the new riding of Lloydminster-Cut Knife. This redistribution aimed to better reflect population distribution and ensure equitable representation across the province.
