Charles Johnston (athlete)
Charles Johnston (born April 23, 1968) is a retired American sprinter who specialized in the 400 meters. He is best known for winning a gold medal in the 4x400 meter relay at the 1995 World Championships in Athletics in Gothenburg, Sweden, along with teammates Marlon Ramsey, Derek Mills, and Butch Reynolds. The team ran a time of 2:57.32. He also competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta as part of the 4x400 meter relay team, but did not run in the final where the U.S. team won gold. Prior to his professional career, Johnston attended and competed for the University of Alabama.
