Trenno
Trenno is a neighbourhood located in the northwestern periphery of Milan, Italy. It is part of Zone 8 of the city's administrative division. Historically an autonomous municipality, it was annexed to Milan in 1923.
Trenno is primarily a residential area characterized by a mix of apartment buildings and single-family homes. It features significant green spaces, notably the Parco di Trenno, one of the largest parks in Milan. The park offers recreational opportunities, including walking trails, cycling paths, and sports facilities.
The area is connected to the rest of Milan by public transportation, including bus lines. While not directly served by the Milan Metro, it is within reasonable proximity to metro stations accessible by bus.
Historically, Trenno was an agricultural area before its urbanization in the 20th century. The name "Trenno" likely derives from a local toponym, although its precise etymological origin is debated.
