Les Hann

Les Hann is a fictional character from the British sitcom Are You Being Served?, which aired from 1972 to 1985. He was portrayed by actor Arthur English. Mr. Hann was the maintenance engineer for Grace Brothers department store.

His character was known for his Cockney accent, perpetually unkempt appearance, and his often-futile attempts to repair broken items within the store. He was frequently summoned to fix malfunctioning escalators, faulty plumbing, or electrical issues, often with limited success. His catchphrase was a gruff, somewhat dismissive, "Alright."

While not a main character, Mr. Hann was a recurring figure who provided comic relief through his incompetence and interactions with the store staff, particularly Mr. Humphries and Captain Peacock. His presence contributed to the sitcom's depiction of a somewhat dysfunctional and eccentric department store environment.
