Avance (newspaper)
Avance was a Spanish-language daily newspaper published in Cuba from 1938 to 1962. It was considered one of Cuba's leading newspapers during its existence, known for its comprehensive coverage of national and international news, as well as its cultural and literary sections. Avance was viewed as a moderate voice, generally supportive of the existing government before the Cuban Revolution.
Following the Cuban Revolution in 1959, the newspaper's editorial stance became increasingly aligned with the revolutionary government. It was eventually nationalized and ceased publication in 1962 as part of a wider restructuring of the Cuban media landscape.
