Manifesto (band)

Manifesto was a short-lived British heavy metal band formed in 1982 by former Iron Maiden vocalist Paul Di'Anno after his departure from that band.

History:

Following Di'Anno's split with Iron Maiden, he sought to establish a new musical direction. Manifesto featured Di'Anno on vocals, John Wiggins on guitar, John Hurley on bass, and Dave Irving on drums. The band's sound leaned towards a more straightforward hard rock/heavy metal style, distinct from the progressive elements present in Iron Maiden's music.

Manifesto released only one studio album, Warriors of the Worlds, in 1983. The album received mixed reviews and failed to achieve significant commercial success.

Brief Existence and Dissolution:

Due to the lack of commercial traction and internal tensions, Manifesto disbanded shortly after the release of Warriors of the Worlds. Paul Di'Anno subsequently pursued various solo projects and collaborations, including the bands Di'Anno's Warriors and Battlezone. The other members of Manifesto largely faded from the music scene.

Legacy:

Despite their brief existence, Manifesto remains a footnote in the history of British heavy metal due to Paul Di'Anno's involvement. The band’s sole album is considered by some to be a curiosity for fans of Di'Anno's early work, showcasing a different musical approach compared to his time with Iron Maiden.
