Frederick Newman (Australian cricketer)

Frederick Newman (born 27 March 1875, died 10 December 1934) was an Australian cricketer who played first-class cricket for New South Wales between 1897 and 1904. A right-handed batsman and occasional right-arm medium-pace bowler, Newman played in 15 first-class matches, scoring 395 runs at an average of 15.73, with a highest score of 54. He took 11 wickets at an average of 31.00, with a best bowling performance of 3/33. Born in Surry Hills, Sydney, New South Wales, he died in Waverley, New South Wales. He was a member of the Waverley District Cricket Club. His brother, Charles Newman, also played first-class cricket.
