Ricardo Morán (director)
Ricardo Morán Vargas is a Peruvian television and theater director, producer, and television personality. He is best known for his work on reality television programs in Peru, particularly talent shows.
Morán began his career in theater and transitioned to television production. He is the general producer of Rayo en la Botella, a Peruvian production company responsible for several popular television shows.
He is widely recognized for his role as a judge on the Peruvian versions of Peru's Got Talent (known locally as Perú Tiene Talento), The X Factor, and Yo Soy (Peru's version of Your Face Sounds Familiar). His direct and often critical judging style has made him a prominent and sometimes controversial figure in Peruvian entertainment.
Beyond his work as a director and judge, Morán is also known for his advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights and representation in Peruvian media. He has been openly critical of discriminatory practices and has used his platform to promote inclusivity. He has written and spoken publicly about his experiences as a gay man in Peru and has advocated for legal equality. He is also a single father to twins.
