Network Q RAC Rally (video game)

The Network Q RAC Rally is a series of rally racing video games primarily developed and published by Europress Software. The games are based on the real-world RAC (Royal Automobile Club) Rally, a former round of the World Rally Championship held annually in Great Britain.

The series initially focused on providing a simulation of the British rally stages, often featuring licensed cars and drivers from the era in which the game was released. Emphasis was typically placed on realistic handling and stage design to replicate the challenges of rally driving on gravel, tarmac, and forest tracks.

Early installments were prominent on the Amiga and PC platforms in the 1990s. While the titles varied in specific features and graphical capabilities depending on the platform and year of release, common elements included: a variety of rally cars from different manufacturers; a selection of challenging rally stages; co-driver navigation instructions; and damage modeling affecting vehicle performance.

Over time, the series evolved with each subsequent release, incorporating improved graphics, physics, and gameplay mechanics. Later entries expanded the scope beyond the British RAC Rally, including international rally locations and championships. The "Network Q" sponsorship was a prominent aspect of the branding in the early games, reflecting the real-world rally's association with the automotive warranty provider.
