Peter English (boxer)
Peter English (born October 6, 1962) is a retired Canadian professional boxer. He competed primarily in the cruiserweight division.
English turned professional in 1985 and fought mainly in Canada during his career. He captured the Canadian cruiserweight title in 1989, defeating Steve Kennedy. He defended the title multiple times before losing it to Troy Ross in 1997. He also challenged for the Commonwealth cruiserweight title, losing to Carl Thompson in 1993. English retired from boxing in 1998 with a record of 20 wins, 7 losses, and 3 draws. He was known for his durability and willingness to engage in tough fights. After his boxing career, English has remained involved in the sport as a trainer.
