Maria Karlsson (footballer, born 1983)

Maria Karlsson (born 20 September 1983) is a Swedish former footballer. She primarily played as a defender. Karlsson played for Bälinge IF and Djurgården/Älvsjö in the Swedish Damallsvenskan. She also represented Sweden at the international level, making several appearances for the national team. Her career was cut short due to persistent knee injuries. After retiring from professional football, Karlsson has been involved in coaching and other activities related to the sport at the youth level.
