The Want (DC band)

The Want was an American indie rock band formed in Washington, D.C. in the early 2000s. The band's lineup primarily consisted of Travis Morrison (vocals, guitar), Chris Richards (guitar, vocals), Andrew Black (bass), and Brendan Canty (drums). Morrison and Richards previously played together in the influential D.C. band, The Dismemberment Plan.

The Want was characterized by its energetic live performances, angular guitar riffs, and lyrical focus on urban life, relationships, and social commentary. Musically, they drew comparisons to post-punk and art-rock acts.
