Andrew Kennedy (American politician)
Andrew Kennedy (born January 17, 1810, died December 31, 1847) was an American politician who served as a U.S. Representative from Indiana.
Born near Uniontown, Pennsylvania, Kennedy moved with his parents to Fayette County, Indiana, in 1815. He pursued classical studies and graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, in 1831. He studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1834, commencing practice in Muncie, Indiana.
Kennedy was elected as a Democrat to the Twenty-seventh Congress, serving from March 4, 1841, to March 3, 1843. He declined to be a candidate for renomination in 1842.
After his term in Congress, Kennedy resumed the practice of law in Muncie, Indiana. He died there on December 31, 1847, and was interred in Beech Grove Cemetery.
