Kheyrat
Kheyrat (also spelled Khairat) is a word of Persian origin, widely used in Urdu, Turkish, and other languages influenced by Persian, meaning "charity," "alms," or "good works." It encompasses acts of benevolence, generosity, and philanthropy done with the intention of helping others, especially those in need. The concept is rooted in religious and cultural values emphasizing social responsibility and the importance of contributing to the well-being of the community. Kheyrat can take many forms, including providing financial assistance, food, shelter, healthcare, education, or any other form of support that alleviates suffering or improves the lives of others. The act of giving kheyrat is often seen as a way to purify one's wealth, gain spiritual merit, and express gratitude for blessings received. While often associated with religious motivations, particularly in Islamic contexts, the concept of kheyrat transcends specific religious boundaries and aligns with universal principles of compassion and human kindness.
