Peter Gilbert (Australian footballer)
Peter Gilbert (born 11 October 1985) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the North Melbourne Football Club and the St Kilda Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL).
Gilbert was drafted by North Melbourne with pick 37 in the 2003 AFL Draft. He made his AFL debut in 2004. A utility player capable of playing in defence or midfield, Gilbert played primarily as a defender for North Melbourne. He was known for his tackling and contested ball winning ability.
Gilbert was traded to St Kilda at the end of the 2009 season in exchange for draft pick 46. He played 20 games in 2010 for St Kilda, including the drawn Grand Final and the Grand Final Replay. He retired from AFL football at the end of the 2012 season.
