Burgomaster (horse)

Burgomaster was a Thoroughbred racehorse foaled in 1903 in the United States. He was sired by Ornament and his dam was Alma F. He is primarily known for winning the 1906 Kentucky Derby.

Burgomaster was owned by George J. Long and trained by Robert J. Walden. His victory in the Kentucky Derby was considered somewhat of an upset. He won the race in a time of 2:06 2/5.

After his racing career, Burgomaster stood at stud. While he sired some winners, he did not achieve significant success as a sire. His legacy is largely tied to his Kentucky Derby victory.
