ARA Salta

ARA Salta (S-2) was a Salta-class diesel-electric submarine of the Argentine Navy. Built by Nordseewerke in Emden, West Germany, it was commissioned in 1973. The Salta and its sister ship, ARA Santiago del Estero, represented Argentina's efforts to modernize its submarine fleet in the 1970s.

History: ARA Salta served for several decades in the Argentine Navy, participating in numerous exercises and patrols.
