Bill Edwards (basketball)

Bill Edwards is a former American college basketball player and coach. He is best known for his tenure as the head men's basketball coach at the University of California, Riverside (UCR) from 1996 to 2006.

Edwards played college basketball at Bradley University. Following his playing career, he transitioned into coaching, holding various assistant coaching positions before being named the head coach at UCR.

During his time at UCR, Edwards oversaw the program's transition from NCAA Division II to Division I. He guided the Highlanders through their initial years in the Big West Conference. His coaching record at UCR was 84-191. While he did not achieve significant postseason success, he is credited with laying the foundation for the program's future growth in Division I. After leaving UCR, Edwards has remained involved in basketball at various levels.
