Psagot
Psagot is an Israeli settlement located in the Binyamin Region of the West Bank, northeast of Jerusalem. Established in 1981, it is administered by the Binyamin Regional Council. The international community considers Israeli settlements in the West Bank illegal under international law, though Israel disputes this.
Psagot is situated on a hilltop overlooking the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. Its economy is primarily based on agriculture, including vineyards producing wine, and tourism. The settlement also has residential areas, schools, and community facilities.
The population of Psagot is predominantly religious Zionist. It is one of numerous Israeli settlements in the West Bank that have been subject to ongoing political and legal debates regarding their legality and impact on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The legality of Psagot, along with all Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories, remains a significant point of contention in international relations. The United Nations Security Council, the International Court of Justice, and many international organizations and governments have declared these settlements to be in violation of international law, specifically the Fourth Geneva Convention.
