Launceston South (electoral division)

Launceston South is a former electoral division of the Tasmanian Legislative Council in Australia. It existed from 1999 to 2017.

Created as part of a statewide reduction in the number of Legislative Council divisions, Launceston South largely absorbed the former division of Cornwall, also taking in parts of the former divisions of South Esk and Macquarie.

The division was based in the southern suburbs of Launceston. Key areas included South Launceston, Invermay, Newstead, and parts of Kings Meadows and Youngtown.

The last member representing Launceston South was independent MLC Jim Wilkinson.

In 2017, a redistribution saw Launceston South abolished. Most of its territory was merged with the division of Paterson to create the new division of Windermere.
