BUX (band)
BUX was a British rock band formed in the early 1970s. They are often classified as a hard rock or proto-metal band, known for their heavy sound and energetic performances. The band's lineup consisted of Pete Crowther (vocals), Paul Neal (guitar), Tony Tankard (bass), and Dave Overton (drums).
BUX released two studio albums: Swashbuckler (1973) and We Come to Play (1976). Swashbuckler featured a blend of hard rock and progressive influences, while We Come to Play adopted a more straightforward, commercially-oriented hard rock style.
Despite building a loyal following through their live shows and garnering some critical acclaim, BUX never achieved mainstream success. The band dissolved in the late 1970s. While largely forgotten, their music has experienced a resurgence of interest among collectors and fans of early hard rock and heavy metal, with reissues of their albums appearing in recent years.
