Arven (band)
Arven is a German symphonic metal band formed in 2006 in Frankfurt. Their music blends elements of power metal, progressive metal, and symphonic metal, featuring melodic vocals, orchestral arrangements, and fantasy-inspired lyrics.
The band was founded by guitarist and songwriter Steffen Theurer. The lineup solidified with the addition of Carina Hanselmann (vocals), Tillman Benzing (bass), Anastasia Schmidt (keyboards), and Jörn Büttner (drums).
Arven released their debut album, Music of Light, in 2011 through Massacre Records. This album established their signature sound and gained them recognition within the symphonic metal scene. Their second album, Black is the Colour, was released in 2015, also through Massacre Records. This album continued their exploration of fantasy themes and further refined their musical style.
The band has toured and performed at festivals across Europe, sharing the stage with other prominent metal acts. Arven is known for their energetic live performances and the captivating stage presence of vocalist Carina Hanselmann.
As of 2023, the band is still active, though no new studio albums have been released since Black is the Colour.
