Manolo (footballer, born 1965)

Manuel "Manolo" Sánchez Delgado (born January 17, 1965) is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a forward.

Manolo spent the vast majority of his professional career with Atlético Madrid, amassing over 300 official appearances and scoring over 100 goals for the club across all competitions. He also represented Spain at the 1990 FIFA World Cup.

He began his career with CD Cacereño before moving to Atlético Madrid in 1984. He initially played for their B team, Atlético Madrid B, before being promoted to the first team. He quickly became a key player for the club, known for his goal-scoring ability and work rate.

During his time with Atlético Madrid, Manolo won two Copa del Rey titles (1991 and 1992). He was also a member of the team that finished as runners-up in the 1991 Liga season.

After leaving Atlético Madrid in 1995, he joined CP Mérida, where he played for one season before retiring from professional football.

Following his retirement, Manolo has remained involved in football, working as a coach and pundit.
