John Wilson (Glasgow St Rollox MP)

John Wilson (1837 – 24 February 1915) was a Scottish businessman and Liberal Unionist politician.

Born in Paisley, Wilson was educated privately and became a prominent figure in the Glasgow business community. He was involved in shipbuilding, iron and coal production, and railway development.

In 1900, Wilson was elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Glasgow St Rollox constituency, a seat he held until his death in 1915. A Liberal Unionist, he supported the coalition with the Conservative party. During his time in Parliament, he was active in debates concerning industrial issues and Scottish affairs. He was also a Justice of the Peace for the City of Glasgow and Renfrewshire. His business acumen and experience were often brought to bear on parliamentary discussions regarding trade and industry.
