David Cannon (politician)

David Cannon is an American politician who served as a Republican member of the Utah House of Representatives, representing District 74 (Washington County) from 2013 to 2023.

Cannon was born and raised in Utah. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Southern Utah University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Utah State University.

Prior to his service in the Utah State Legislature, Cannon worked as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

During his time in the Utah House, Cannon served on various committees, including the House Revenue and Taxation Committee, the House Judiciary Committee, and the House Rules Committee. He sponsored and co-sponsored numerous bills related to taxation, property rights, and education.

Cannon is generally considered a conservative Republican. He is known for his advocacy for limited government, fiscal responsibility, and individual liberty.
