Tu Hai

Tu Hai (Chinese: 圖海; Manchu: ᡨᡠᡥᠠᡳ) was a prominent military general and official of the Qing dynasty during the reign of the Kangxi Emperor. He played a significant role in the suppression of the Revolt of the Three Feudatories, particularly in the provinces of Shaanxi and Gansu.

Tu Hai, a member of the Plain Blue Banner, began his career in the Qing military and rose through the ranks due to his military acumen and loyalty to the Qing dynasty. He was instrumental in coordinating Qing forces and devising effective strategies against the rebel forces led by Wang Fuchen in the northwest. His campaigns were characterized by meticulous planning and a focus on securing supply lines, which proved crucial to his successes.

His contributions were not limited to military leadership. He also served in various administrative positions and was known for his efforts to restore order and stability to the regions affected by the rebellion. He implemented policies aimed at alleviating the suffering of the civilian population and encouraging agricultural production.

Following the suppression of the Revolt of the Three Feudatories in the northwest, Tu Hai was rewarded for his service and continued to serve the Qing dynasty in various capacities. He remained a trusted advisor to the Kangxi Emperor and a respected figure within the Qing court until his death. His legacy lies primarily in his role in quelling a major threat to the Qing dynasty's rule and his subsequent efforts to rebuild the affected regions.
