Planernaya (Moscow Metro)

Planernaya is a station on the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya Line (Line 7) of the Moscow Metro. It is located in the Severnoye Tushino District of Moscow, Russia, north-west of the city center.

The station opened on December 30, 1975, as the northern terminus of the Krasnopresnenskaya Line (which later merged into the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya Line). It served as the line's terminus until the extension to Mitino in 2009.

Planernaya is a shallow column tri-span station built using a standard design. The platform is island-type, allowing passengers to exit on either side. The walls are faced with white marble, and the floor is covered with grey granite.

The station's name originates from the former Planernaya Ulitsa (Glider Street), which was named after a nearby aerodrome where glider pilots trained in the early Soviet era.

Planernaya offers transfers to surface transport, including buses and trams, connecting passengers to various parts of the Severnoye Tushino District and beyond. It is a significant transportation hub for the northwestern part of Moscow.
