Wilamówka

Wilamówka is a small town in southern Poland, located in the Silesian Voivodeship, near Bielsko-Biała. It is notable primarily for its unique and endangered West Germanic language, also called Wilamowicean or Wymysiöeryś, spoken by a small minority of its inhabitants.

The Wilamowicean language is distinct from Polish and German, though it has been influenced by both. It is believed to have originated from settlers from the 13th century, possibly of Flemish, Frisian, or Saxon origin. For centuries, the language and culture of Wilamowice remained relatively isolated, contributing to the preservation of its unique linguistic features.
