Chris Parry (producer)
Chris Parry is a British record producer and manager, primarily known for his work with the band The Cure during their formative years and subsequent rise to international fame.
Parry began his career in music journalism before transitioning to artist management and production. He co-founded the record label Fiction Records in 1978 specifically to release The Cure's music, although it later signed other notable artists. He served as The Cure's manager and producer (or co-producer) on several of their early and critically acclaimed albums, including Three Imaginary Boys, Seventeen Seconds, Faith, Pornography, and The Top.
Parry's role in shaping The Cure's distinctive sound and image during their early period is often acknowledged, particularly in navigating the band's artistic development and securing their record deal. His involvement with the band ended in the mid-1980s.
After his work with The Cure, Parry continued to work in the music industry, focusing on artist management and other ventures.
