Cape Lyon
Cape Lyon is a cape located on the northwest coast of Banks Island in the Northwest Territories, Canada. It marks the western entrance point of the McClure Strait and the northern entrance point of the Prince of Wales Strait, both significant waterways within the Arctic Archipelago. The cape is characterized by its exposed location and challenging weather conditions, typical of the High Arctic. Its remoteness and harsh environment contribute to it being relatively uninhabited, though it may have been historically used by Inuit peoples. Cape Lyon is a significant navigational landmark due to its position at the intersection of major Arctic shipping routes. The surrounding waters are often ice-covered for much of the year.
