Tropical Depression One (1993)

Tropical Depression One was the first tropical cyclone of the 1993 Atlantic hurricane season. It formed on June 1, 1993, in the Gulf of Mexico from a broad area of low pressure. The depression was poorly organized and struggled to intensify due to unfavorable upper-level winds. It moved northeastward, making landfall near Panama City, Florida, on June 3, 1993, with maximum sustained winds of 30 mph.

After landfall, the depression weakened into a remnant low. The remnants continued to move northeastward across the southeastern United States, eventually dissipating over the Atlantic Ocean on June 5, 1993.

Tropical Depression One caused minor flooding and some wind damage in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. Rainfall amounts generally ranged from 2 to 4 inches, with isolated higher amounts. Overall, the depression's impacts were minimal, and no deaths or significant injuries were reported. No tropical storm name was assigned as it never reached tropical storm strength.
