C2C (group)
C2C is a French electronic music group, formed in Nantes in 1998. The group consists of four members, all of whom are DJs: Atom, pFeL, 20Syl, and Greem. C2C is known for its innovative turntable techniques, incorporating scratching, beat juggling, and live remixing into their performances.
The name C2C originally stood for Coups de Crosses, reflecting the aggressive and competitive nature of the early turntable battles they participated in. They have since stated that the name no longer holds any specific meaning.
C2C achieved significant recognition by winning the DMC Team World Championship four consecutive times, from 2003 to 2006. This streak of victories established them as a leading force in the turntablism scene.
In 2012, C2C released their debut album, Tetra, to critical and commercial success. The album showcased their distinctive blend of hip-hop, electronic, and jazz influences, and featured the hit single "Down the Road." Tetra earned several awards, including the Victoires de la Musique for Electronic Album of the Year.
C2C's live performances are characterized by their high energy and technical skill. They continue to tour and perform at festivals around the world, showcasing their unique approach to DJing and electronic music. Their influence extends beyond the turntablism community, inspiring other artists and pushing the boundaries of electronic music performance.
