Central District (Farahan County)

The Central District (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان فراهان) is a district (bakhsh) within Farahan County in Markazi Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 29,700, in 8,206 families. The Central District has one city: Farahan. The Central District also contains several rural districts (dehestan), including Farmahin Rural District and Khorram Dasht Rural District. It serves as the administrative center of the county and typically contains the county seat (the city of Farahan in this case). The economy of the Central District is primarily based on agriculture, animal husbandry, and some small-scale industries.
