Ian Williams (footballer, born 1957)

Ian Williams (born 17 February 1957) is a Welsh former professional footballer. He played as a defender, primarily as a centre-back.

Williams began his career at Wrexham, making his debut in the Football League in the 1970s. He went on to play for several other clubs, including Tranmere Rovers, Chester City, and Bangor City. While at Chester City, he was a key player in their defence during a period of relative success for the club. He also had a spell playing in Hong Kong.

After retiring from professional football, Williams remained involved in the sport at a local level. His career spanned the late 1970s and 1980s.
