Missing Link (TV series)

Missing Link is a 1988 British television sitcom written by Andrew Nickolds. It aired on ITV for one series, consisting of six episodes.

The show revolves around the eccentric inhabitants of a rundown, somewhat isolated boarding house, "The Missing Link," run by the perpetually stressed landlady, Muriel Belcher (played by Jennifer Lonsdale). The residents, a motley crew of oddballs and social misfits, include an unemployed actor, a conspiracy theorist, and a shy librarian.

The series' humor is derived from the characters' interactions, their bizarre schemes, and Muriel's constant attempts to keep the boarding house afloat despite the residents' antics and her own lack of business acumen. Each episode typically focuses on a new problem or opportunity that arises, often involving farcical situations and misunderstandings. While it attempted to be quirky and comedic, Missing Link did not achieve widespread popularity and was not renewed for a second series.
