Johannisthal is a locality (Ortsteil) within the Treptow-Köpenick borough of Berlin, Germany. It is situated on the southeastern periphery of the city.

History: Johannisthal's history is significantly intertwined with the development of aviation in Germany. It was home to one of Germany's first major airfields, the Johannisthal Air Field (Flugplatz Johannisthal), established in 1909. This airfield played a crucial role in the early days of flight, serving as a testing ground for aircraft, a training center for pilots, and a hub for airshows and competitions.
