Baillaud (crater)
Baillaud is a lunar impact crater that lies on the far side of the Moon, to the northeast of the larger walled plain Riccioli. To the northwest of Baillaud is the crater Lallemand, and to the east is the slightly smaller crater Inghirami.
This is a heavily eroded crater formation with a damaged outer rim that has been reshaped by subsequent impacts. Several small craters lie across the rim, and along the inner walls and interior floor. The most notable of these is Baillaud N, which lies along the northeast rim. Several other tiny craterlets mark the surface. The interior floor is somewhat uneven, and contains a few low rises.
The crater is named after French astronomer Édouard Baillaud.
