Yeadon railway station (England)

Yeadon railway station was a railway station serving the town of Yeadon, in West Yorkshire, England. It was located on the Arthington to Guiseley line, a branch of the Midland Railway.

The station opened in 1876 and served both passenger and goods traffic. Passenger services primarily consisted of local trains to Leeds, Bradford, and Ilkley. The goods yard handled a variety of goods, including coal, livestock, and textiles, reflecting the area's industrial past.

The station closed to passengers in 1964 as part of the Beeching cuts. Goods traffic continued for a short time before ceasing altogether. The station buildings were subsequently demolished, and the track lifted.

Today, little remains of the former Yeadon railway station. The site is now occupied by housing and other development. There are no immediate plans to reinstate a railway station in Yeadon, although the possibility has been discussed in the context of wider transport infrastructure improvements in the region. The nearest active railway station to Yeadon is Guiseley railway station.
