John Nolan (American actor)
John Nolan (born May 1, 1938) is an American actor known primarily for his extensive work in television and theatre, with occasional film roles.
Career: Nolan began his acting career in the theatre, appearing in numerous stage productions both on and off Broadway. He has appeared in roles ranging from Shakespearean characters to contemporary figures.
His television career spans several decades, with guest appearances on numerous popular shows. He is arguably best known for his recurring role as Dr. Lyle "Larry" Hutchins in the soap opera As the World Turns, a role he played from 1985 until the show's cancellation in 2010.
Nolan also had a recurring role as Frederick "Freddy" Carter, father of Harold Finch (Michael Emerson), in the CBS drama Person of Interest. His performance in this role was critically acclaimed.
He has also made guest appearances in series such as Law & Order, CSI: NY, and Blue Bloods.
