Derek Holland (rower)

Derek Holland (born November 9, 1950) is a former Irish rower who competed primarily in the single sculls event. He represented Ireland at the 1976 Montreal Olympics and the 1980 Moscow Olympics. Holland is best known for winning a silver medal at the 1975 World Rowing Championships in Nottingham, England. This was Ireland's first ever medal at the World Rowing Championships. He also competed in numerous other international rowing events, including the European Rowing Championships and the Henley Royal Regatta. After retiring from competitive rowing, he has remained involved in the sport in various capacities, including coaching.
