Hardcover (film)

Hardcover is a 1981 Canadian thriller film directed by John McCauley and starring Pamela Sue Martin, Michael Ironside, and August Schellenberg. The film follows a young woman named Chris (Martin) who witnesses a murder committed by a corrupt businessman, Tony Bardo (Ironside). After reporting the crime to the police, Chris is placed under witness protection. However, Bardo uses his connections to track her down, and Chris is forced to go on the run, seeking help from a Native American man named Charlie (Schellenberg).

The film is notable for its early role for Michael Ironside, who later became known for his portrayals of villains. It was filmed in and around Sudbury, Ontario. Critical reception of Hardcover was mixed to negative upon release, with some critics praising Ironside's performance but criticizing the script and pacing.
