True Tears (TV series)
True Tears is a 2008 Japanese anime television series produced by P.A. Works. It aired in Japan between January 6, 2008, and March 30, 2008, consisting of 13 episodes. The anime features an entirely original story and characters, unrelated to the visual novel's plot or cast.
The story centers around Shinichirō Nakagami, a high school student living with his adoptive family, which includes Hiromi Yuasa, a popular and athletic girl in his school. Shinichirō attempts to help Hiromi overcome a personal tragedy that has caused her to become withdrawn and unable to cry. Simultaneously, he encounters Noe Isurugi, a peculiar girl who claims she has given her tears away. The series explores themes of loss, grief, love, and the complexities of human relationships. The animation style is known for its detailed character designs and scenic backgrounds.
