Jidava (castra)

Jidava (castra) was a Roman fort (castra) located in modern-day Romania. It formed part of the Roman Limes Alutanus, a defensive line constructed along the Olt River during Roman Dacia. The fort was built to protect the empire's borders against incursions from various tribes to the north and east.

The primary function of Jidava was to house a Roman garrison, providing them with a strategic location for monitoring and controlling the surrounding territory.
