HMS Brilliant (H84)

HMS Brilliant (H84) was a Batch 3 Type 22 frigate of the British Royal Navy. Commissioned in 1981, she saw active service in the Falklands War in 1982.

During the Falklands War, HMS Brilliant acted as an escort for the carrier HMS Invincible and was involved in several engagements, notably the rescue of survivors from HMS Sheffield. She also played a role in the suppression of Argentine air attacks and provided fire support to ground forces.

Following the Falklands War, HMS Brilliant continued to serve with the Royal Navy, participating in various deployments and exercises around the world. She underwent a refit in the late 1980s to upgrade her capabilities.

HMS Brilliant was decommissioned from the Royal Navy in 1996. After her decommissioning, she was sold to the Romanian Navy in 2002 and renamed Regele Ferdinand (F221). She continues to serve as a frontline warship in the Romanian Navy.
